Mind Control with Derren Brown is my new favorite show. Its on the Sci-Fi channel and its amazing. The thig is, it’s not like all of that David Blain, Chris Angel Mindfuck shit that pretends its magic. It’s all about the power of suggestion, sublteties of body language, and stupidity of the average person. I’m being mean, we’re not all stupid. It’s just that intelligence, social status, religion, and power are veils we use to cloak mind. When someone is able to lift those veils everyone is basically like a child. We are easily tricked into giving away subtle signs about who we are, what we are thinking, and what we are capable of. But the best thing that I like about this show is that Derren shows us how we were tricked. He reveals his tricks to show that they are not tricks at all. He is not a magician, just a man who can easily see through us. All I know is I never want to play poker against this guy.
